The Art of Cheese Presents: Handcrafted Milk-based Soapmaking PLUS Milk-based Bath Bombs & Lotions

This is our traditional soapmaking class with the bonus addition of two fabulous body products: bath bombs and milk-based lotions!  Join our guest instructor, June Small of the The Small Farm Life blog for this informative and hands-on class. Registration is required at www.theartofcheese.com.

First, we’ll learn how to make wonderful milk-based soaps using one of three different recipes. Our first recipe, Handcrafted Milk Soap, uses a combination of olive oil, coconut oil and palm oil to create a wonderfully moisturizing and sudsy soap. The second recipe, Old-Fashioned Milk Soap, uses lard as the main oil, along with coconut oil for a good lather. The final recipe is a simple glycerin melt-and-pour method that is easy and safe enough to do with kids.

Next, June will teach us how to make these additional body care products and you’ll get to have some hands-on fun making your very own, custom bath bomb! You will go home with several soap and lotion samples as well as your handmade bath bomb and a recipe packet.

Haystack cheeses and home cheesemaking supplies will be available for purchase. See www.theartofcheese.com for additional events!
